| Organization development. Projects. Creating a Talent Pool |
|
|
An important competitive advantage for a company nowadays is whether it is able to reveal and prepare efficient future managers in a timely manner. For this reason companies create a system of recruitment and development of future managerial staff (talent pool) and regard it as a strategically essential task.
A talent pool is group of managers and specialists who are capable of managing, fit the job description of the corresponding positions, passed a selection and undergone a targeted training. There are two groups in a talent pool: reserve (doubles) and a promising reserve (resource, HiPo) young workers with a leaders potential.
By creating a talent pool the company acquires the following advantages:
qualified and promising employees remain in the company, they are given possibilities for career growth
the adaptation period of a manager in his new post reduces and takes up to less than 3 months
new managers are loyal to the company
commercial information is well protected
a continuity in business-processes and corporate culture is ensured.
Projects on creating a talent pool comprise 3 main stages:
Stage 1. Developing requirements for the talent pool
Stage 2. Assessment of candidates for the talent pool and working out an action plan
Stage 3. Implementation of the action plan and evaluation of its efficiency.
